3D Printing / Additive Manufacturing Terms of Service:

Scope of Work

All 3D models or data provided to i-SOLIDS must be created by or legally obtained by the user. Any liability resulting from illegally obtained digital content provided to i-SOLIDS will be the responsibility of the user.

A member of the i-SOLIDS production team will review all models for manufacturability based on the requested manufacturing and post-processing options. This review will be performed with best effort, but since we are not familiar with the intricacies of each part, we cannot guarantee that once approved, there will not be unanticipated complexity or recommended changes to the manufacturing process.

Unless contracted separately, we do not perform a full engineering review for potential design-related issues such as mating tolerances, thin walls, or mechanical strength. Any design, processing, or material recommendations provided by i-SOLIDS should be used as general guidance, and there are no guarantees related to this information.

Without prior express written agreement, i-SOLIDS does not warrant the specific use or application of any part produced. The suitability of the product and/or intended use shall be solely the responsibility of the user.

Quotation & Order Confirmation:

Print orientation and other related production settings, such as slicer settings when using FDM technologies, will be optimized based on experience and best practices to balance cost, finish, and strength. Please provide any specific production requests in the notes section during order confirmation.

i-SOLIDS does not guarantee a specific delivery or completion date. Estimated lead times are based on historical averages and presented as business days. These estimates exclude weekends (Saturday & Sunday) as well as common national holidays including but not limited to Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving, and July 4th.

All quotes provided by i-SOLIDS must be thoroughly reviewed by the client for accuracy. This includes the accuracy of the correct 3D models being used, quantities, technology, materials, post-processing options, and any specific production requests. Once payment is submitted or a purchase order is supplied, the quote is considered reviewed and fully accurate. Any changes or reproduction costs associated with inaccuracy of the original quote would be the responsibility of the user.

Quality Control

i-SOLIDS quality control process is based on the following common industry standards:

-
Parts will have a consistent surface finish with no bumps, delamination, or blemishes that are inconsistent with common use of the manufacturing technology used. Supported surface roughness and marks left by retraction and/or layer changing are acceptable for FDM parts. Minor variations in surface finish due to "capillarity" effects are acceptable for MJF parts.
-
Overall bounding box dimensions are verified to be within the following tolerances:
-
FDM: ± 0.5% with a lower limit of ± 0.5 mm (± 0.020")
-
SLA/DLP: ± 0.5% with a lower limit of ± 0.15 mm (± 0.006")
-
SLS/MJF: ± 0.3% with a lower limit of ± 0.3 mm (± 0.012")
-
-
Dimensional accuracy of any specific geometric features may not be guaranteed unless prior agreement is made. Dimensional drawing(s) may be requested, and additional fees may apply.
-
Mechanical or performance properties may not be guaranteed unless prior agreement is made. Technical data sheets may be provided for the raw materials used; however, the mechanical performance of any parts may be specific to design and/or other factors outside of i-SOLIDS' control.
-
Full-color parts produced utilizing the HP 580 technology may have variance between colors displayed on a computer model and the resulting physical part, as well as variance in colors produced between individual parts within large batches. The most notable color discrepancy occurs with pure white and pure black - these typically result in a "warm white" color and a "dark grey," respectively.
-
Vapor smoothing can improve liquid impermeability and provide a glossy finish, but no guarantee to the effectiveness or consistency of this post-processing option can be provided due to a high number of potential variables, including but not limited to current weather conditions. The most influential variable is part geometry. Generally, thick models or features will be processed to a higher degree than thin areas. Models which include a wide variance in cross-section thickness may be inconsistent when processed.

Limited Warranty

Any part found to be non-conformant based on the above standard would be eligible for rework, reproduction, credit, or refund of the production cost associated with that specific part. The following conditions must be met for this warranty to apply:

-
RMA requests related to damage must be submitted within 7 days of delivery or from when the order is marked as being ready for pickup.
-
RMA requests related to part quality must be submitted within 30 days of delivery or from when the order is marked as being ready for pickup.
-
Parts must not be modified or altered from their original delivery form.
-
There should be no visible damage from the part being used.
-
All non-conformant parts must be returned and accompanied by an RMA form to be inspected and processed.
-
Any reproduction of parts will utilize the same 3D model, technology, material, and post-processing options as the original order.

Confidentiality

i-SOLIDS assumes that all 3D models and intellectual property provided are confidential and will not disclose, share, distribute, or otherwise make available any part of the 3D models or related information to any third party without the express written consent of the Client, except where necessary to involve third-party subcontractors or partners to complete the project. In such cases, the i-SOLIDS will ensure that any third parties are bound by confidentiality obligations equivalent to those in this agreement. i-SOLIDS will use the 3D models solely for the purpose of fulfilling the client's manufacturing needs and for no other purpose.
i-SOLIDS will take all reasonable precautions to safeguard client information from unauthorized access, copying, or use. All digital copies of the 3D models will be stored on a secured server with restricted access, and will be retained solely for the purpose of record-keeping and future orders, unless otherwise agreed.
